UD Almería open the gap at the top of LaLiga SmartBank table
The Christmas leaders have extended their lead over runners-up SD Ponferradina and third placed SD Eibar by 9 points. CD Tenerife are 10 points behind.
UD Almería have once again taken one more step forward in the competition after Matchday 20. In fact, the Rojiblancos opened the gap after the last 3-0 victory over Real Zaragoza last Saturday, together with the draws experienced by their most direct rivals SD Ponferradina, SD Eibar and islanders CD Tenerife.
Rubi's team have 9 more points than runners-up SD Ponferradina and third placed SD Eibar. Further down, fourth CD Tenerife are ten points adrift of the table-toppers.
UD Almería on 45 points, will complete the first half of the second tier next Monday, 20 December visiting CD Lugo. It will be the last fixture of the year 2021.
