UD Almeria in a double gameweek

The rojiblancos are hosting Real Oviedo on Thursday and visiting Extremadura UD on Sunday

UD Almeria are to face a really intense and demanding week of competition after the Copa del Rey break. In this sense, the team will have to play two games in just 72 hours. 

In fact, the rojiblancos will be hosting Real Oviedo on Thursday, 16th January at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium (9 p.m.). Later on, the team will have to visit Extremadura on Sunday 19th January (8.30 p.m.). 

After last Saturday’s break the team returned to training in a week without interruption, in order to prepare the meeting against the Asturians. Also, Almeria are keeping an eye on Extremadura UD. 

José María Gutiérrez has 21 players up for grabs including the first signing of the January transfer window, Kaptoum. Lucien Owona, who will undergo a surgery on his right knee on Thursday, Coric and Juan Ibiza were out of action. 

The UD Almería’s players are meant to train throughout the week, in morning sessions at the Anexo training ground, although some of these trainings could take place at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium.
