UD Almería drawn to play SD Amorebieta in Spanish Cup second round
The single-legged tie against second tier opponents is going to be played on 14/15/16 December at the Urritxe Stadium
UD Almería will be playing against second tier rivals SD Amorebieta in the Copa del Rey second round. The Rojiblancos could have drawn to Primera RFEF opponents or as it has happened, a side competing in the same league. The order of the balls pulled out of the pot decides which team are hosts or visitors and this time...UD Almería will have to set out on a long journey to North Spain in the last week of competition in 2021.
This Spanish Cup second round is set for 14/15/16 December. The Rojiblancos will be hosting Real Zaragoza at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium on 11 December; and later they will be playing an away game versus CD Lugo on 20th December. A trip to Vizcaya has to be made before heading out to Lugo, what makes it two long journeys in a short time.
Relegation-threatened SD Amorebieta, were actually the first team to defeat UD Almería this season in a match in which the Rojiblancos took the lead and were later down to 10 men.
The tie will be played at the Urritxe Stadium located in Zornotzarra even though the Athletic Club de Bilbao Sports Complex in Lezama is being the main pitch for SD Amorebieta.
Taking into account the dates of the league matches of both teams, the tie could be set on Wednesday, 15th December or Thursday, 16th December.
