UD Almería drawn away to CD Arenteiro in first-round Spanish Cup
The Rojiblancos will play in Ourense (Galicia) on the weekend of 12-13 November just before the winter break for the Qatar World Cup 2022.
1,100 kilometres separate the town of Carballino (Ourense) from Almería; The Espiñedo Municipal Stadium will host the first round Copa del Rey tie: Segunda Division RFEF side CD Arenteiro vs UD Almería.
The draw took place this Monday at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas and has matched the teams that will play a single-game tie and at the club's pitch that plays in the lowest tier. CD Arenteiro faced Valencia CF last year in a tie marked by the fighting spirit of the Galician outfit that led their adversaries to extra-time to end up losing 1-3.
The field on which the match will be played is natural grass. The first round will be held on the weekend of 12-13 November with the schedules to be confirmed. It will be the last official match for the Indálicos before the winter break for the World Cup in Qatar.
Last season, Rubi's UD Almería exited the Spanish Cup in the third round and the year before, in the quarter-finals. The best achievement made by the Rojiblancos in the Copa del Rey was that historic semi-final of the 2010/11 season against FC Barcelona.
