UD Almería confine full attention to SD Amorebieta ‘ignoring’ standings
The first team players have resumed training this Tuesday morning. Fernando does not train, but the goalkeeper is doing well in his recovery
The UD Almería first team players have resumed training to start preparing for Saturday’s home match (Matchday 39) against SD Amorebieta (KO 6:15pm Spain Time) at Juegos Mediterráneos.
The vital 0-2 victory over Burgos CF achieved last Saturday plus Real Valladolid CF’s home defeat last Monday have given UD Almería a four-point advantage in the LaLiga SmartBank without forgetting their better goal difference over the third-placed Pucelanos.
UD Almería have started the weekly training focusing squarely on how to beat Saturday’s visiting team since SD Amorebieta will arrive at the Mediterráneo more than ready to play their last chances of survival and therefore, the match will be extremely complicated... Let’s not forget that Real Valladolid CF fell to a 1-2 defeat against Real Sociedad ‘B’... by the way, they are the Rojiblancos’ next opponents on Friday, 13th April.
Rubi and his players do not want to guess or think beyond Saturday’s fixture. All they want to do now is to be totally focused on SD Amorebieta. Chumi, who exercises partially with the group; Juanjo Nieto, who has begun to exercise on the pitch apart from his team-mates, and Iván Martos, will miss out against the Basque-country side.
Fernando, who ended the match in Burgos with left knee discomfort, has not trained either, however he is doing well in his recovery process. The man in the UD Almeria’s nets has done tailored workouts, as it has happened in previous weeks, and will soon join his team-mates. Bear in mind that the goalie has had discomfort but not real pain for weeks, although it has not prevented him from competing so far.
The Rojiblancos have trained on the Anexo training ground. This Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, they will do so behind closed doors at the Juegos Mediterráneos Stadium.
