UD Almería complete impressive first half of season in the Spanish top flight
Second best record of points after 19 Matchdays in the elite football with the unfinished business of winning away from home.
The first half of the Primera Division has been sensational for UD Almería since after 19 Matchdays, they sit right in the middle of the table with 22 points collected to date. This is the second best score ever for UD Almería competing in the top tier, just one point behind the team coached by Unai Emery (23 points) in the first promotion to the Primera Division of the Club's most recent stage.
There are several interesting facts from this first half of the campaign that should be highlighted. On the one hand, the 23 goals scored by the Rojiblancos stand out, with only eight first division outfits (FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Real Sociedad, Atlético de Madrid, Athletic de Bilbao, Rayo Vallecano, Girona FC and Valencia CF) with more goals to their tallies. It is noteworthy the extensive list of players, fourteen, who have scored at least one goal this season. On the other hand, the percentage of points that have been added in the Power Horse Stadium; UD Almería have picked up 19 points out of the 30 points that have been at stake, which means 64% of all of them at home.
There are more stats that reflect the high competitiveness shown by the Rojiblancos. 1,710 minutes have been played so far with UD Almería drawing over 671 minutes, winning throughout 540 and losing in 499 minutes; which only goes to show that the team has almost always been in a position to snatch the points against their opponents. They lost games by more than one goal only in four games. They did not score against their rivals in 6 games.
On eight occasions, the Indálicos began by scoring the opening goals, to end up winning or drawing in six and they were defeated by the opposition in two; on the contrary, they conceded the first goal 11 times, came back from behind twice, tied twice and were defeated seven times. There is no goalless draw recorded in this entire first half of the season.

UD Almería are currently facing one of the toughest top-tier leagues of the last decade; Real Valladolid CF are the team
clear of the relegation zone on 20 points before the reverse fixtures kick off. It was in the 2018/19 season when Celta de Vigo were the outfit that avoided the drop with 21 points. The rest of the campaigns safety was always at 19 points or less after the first half of the season. The competiveness is so high at the moment that there are only three points of advantage between UD Almería (11th) and current third bottom team Cádiz CF (18th).
HOME FORM VS AWAY FORM
The contrast of UD Almería's results lies in the broad difference between the points earned at home (19) and those bagged as visitors (3). Rubi's men have yet to win away from the Power Horse Stadium. Being true that they have been very close to achieving it, three draws were scored with Elche CF, Cádiz CF and Valencia CF as guests. It should be pointed out that in this second stage of the season, the Rojiblancos will play one more game away from home than on home turf.
