UD Almería are pleased to confirm technically gifted Juan Villar has signed a three-year deal with the club

The player arrives from Club Atlético Osasuna and signs his new contract for three seasons with the Rojiblanco club

Juan Villar becomes a new signing for UD Almería once the Andalusian club has reached a mutual agreement with the footballer and the Navarrese club (Navarra), a transfer that was completed on Friday night. The player signs for three seasons and this is the fifth addition after the arrivals of Aketxe, Manu Marlones, Chumi and Samú Costa, bearing in mind that Maras has been contracted on a permanent basis after a year being on loan, and Fran Villalba’s stay has also been extended until the end of the season after loan spell.

Juan Villar is a reliable 32-year-old forward who has wide experience and will reinforce the attack force. Since he made his professional debut, the Huelva-born player has scored more than a hundred goals. He is a versatile, fast attacker with great tactical awareness, who gets unmarked comfortably and finds spaces easily.

The new UD Almería right-winger was born on 19th May, 1988 in the town of Aroche (Huelva, Andalusia) and trained in the Recreativo de Huelva’s ranks, promoting to the first-team eventually. Later on, he also played for clubs such as Cádiz, Valladolid and Tenerife before signing for Osasuna in the past 2018/19 season. In that campaign, he scored 12 goals that propelled the side to earn promotion to the top-flight. He played ten games in the top-tier during the 2019/20 season before being loaned out to Rayo Vallecano over the course of the last winter transfer window and he managed to score 7 goals in fourteen games as a Vallecano player.
