UD Almería appreciate Pepe Mel's time, effort and dedication

The head coach, who was signed for the last 10 Matchdays of the LaLiga EA Sports, will not longer be at the Club. UD Almería thank the Madrid native for his work, professionalism and commitment over these months

Pepe Mel will not longer be UD Almería' head coach. He was signed on 13rd March to be at the helm of the first team in the last 10 Matchdays of LaLiga EA Sports, with no continuity clauses and once the season ends his relationship with the Club will also be finished, as he has been informed.

The Club would like to publicly thank the Madrid native coach for his his time, professionalism and commitment during the almost two and a half months in which he has been in the driving seat of UD Almería in the top flight of Spanish football.

UD Almería would also like to express their deep sense of gratitude to assistant coach Nacho Pérez and conditioning coach Álvaro Montiel, who arrived in Almería with Pepe Mel. The one who until now has been head coach of UD Almería was the 4th coach of this 2023/24 season, after Vicente Moreno, Alberto Lasarte (on an interim basis) and Gaizka Garitano.

UD Almería were the bottom team and after 28 Matchdays they had still not won a game. The thing about Mr Mel, who bravely accepted a challenge, was to arrive and pulled it off at thw first attempt because in his debut he recorded a triumph in Las Palmas.

The Rojiblancos achieved two away wins, two draws and one defeat. They lost 4 games and won one at home with a resounding 6-1 victory over Cádiz CF that made the fans leave the Stadium with big smiles on their faces as Pepe Mel himself stated in his last press conference.

UD Almería wish him the best of luck for the future.
