Two points adrift from play-offs as Almeria move up 5 places

The Rojiblancos have taken a huge step forward with their victory in Sabadell and they still have one more match to play before the end of the week

Almería took a huge step forward in their aspirations within LaLiga SmartBank and after clinching a victory in Sabadell Jose Gomes’ side climbing 5 positions in the table, moving from fourthteen to ninth. The Rojiblancos are now two points adrift from the promotion play-off spots, having yet one more game to play. Matchday 2 of the championship between Real Zaragoza and UD Almeria was also postponed. However, it is still to be confirmed when both sides will be battling it out under the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium lights.

The first-team Almeria squad have been undefeated for five successive matchdays, in which the competitive players took one point twice (against Cartagena and Girona on home turf) and clinched three victories against Fuenlabrada, Castellón and Sabadell, the latter two contested at home.

The Rojiblancos will be setting out on a journey on Sunday in order to play Rayo Vallecano at the Vallecas stadium located in the large neighbourhood of Madrid. Their next opponents from the Spanish capital city, are sitting fifth on 16 points, just two above Almeria who managed to get 14 points.
