Twenty-two players named in the squad for Almeria’s first game

The Rojiblancos completed one last training session before flying charter to Lugo, via La Coruña at 5.30 p.m.

Twenty-two players have been named in the first official UD Almería squad for the first fixture of the 2020/21 season. The Rojiblancos are playing this Sunday, at 12 noon, against CD Lugo at the Angel Carro Stadium in the city of Lugo. 

There are many new faces in José Gomes’ squad list, since most of the thirteen signings made are travelling to Galicia. Manu Morlanes, Ramazani and Appiah have been left out. The latter is recovering from the intestinal surgery that he had to undergo in Marbella, during the pre-season; The loanee from Villarreal has recently joined the team after undergoing surgery on a shoulder two months ago, and the English player experienced some slight discomfort in the last training session on Saturday. 

Homegrown Dani Albiar has also been included in the squad as he is working regularly with the senior team. Almeria are flying charter to Lugo, via La Coruña at 5,30 p.m.

Goalkeepers: Makaridze (1) and Fernando (13). 

Defenders: Aitor Buñuel (2), Balliu (20), Peybernes (4), Maras (18), Chumi (21), Jorge Cuenca (24), Iván Martos (3) and Akieme (15). 

Midfielders: César de la Hoz (6), Petrovic (8), Samú Costa (22), Aketxe (10), Cristian Olivera (11), Lazo (16), Corpas (17), Fran Villalba (23) and Dani Albiar (27). 

Forwards: Juan Villar (7), Pablo Mendes (26) and Juan Gutiérrez (34).
