Tough-looking Spanish Cup tie against SD Amorebieta
UD Almería are to face the second round tie this Thursday (KO 7pm Spain Time) with the fundamental aim of progressing to the next round
The UD Almería contenders are facing the Copa del Rey second round tie against SD Amorebieta this Thursday, 16 December at the Urritxe ground (KO 7pm Spain Time). We are talking about a tough-looking encounter for the Rojiblancos, who will go into the game with the firm intention of progressing to the round of 32 of this exciting Spanish tournament.
The UD Almeria first-team members are going to take on rivals who also compete in the second tier and were certainly responsible for the first league defeat that the Rojiblancos experienced back on Matchday 3, although the early sending-off of Robertone could have taken its toll on a fixture in which UD Almería took the lead.
Although UD Almeria are now the Xmas LaLiga SmartBank leaders and the Azules are at the bottom of the table in the 20th position, it is also a reality that SD Amorebieta are in good form at the moment, perhaps they are having the best time since the beginning of the season. They will be playing in their stadium, not in Lezama. On top of that, their style of play will force visitors UD Almería to be on alert at all times and to display great intensity on the hosts’ pitch. It will surely be a demanding Spanish Cup tie.
The squad members have undergone a final evening training session at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium. They will be flying charter to Bilbao this Thursday first thing in the morning. After touching down, they will continue their journey to Amorebieta in order to take up a new challenge this year.
