UD Almería returned to training on Wednesday following Tuesday’s day off, with the squad working at the UD Almería Stadium as they turned their attention to their next league fixture away from home. The Rojiblancos travel to face historic club CE Sabadell FC at the Nova Creu Alta on Saturday at 5pm (Spanish Time). It will be the team’s third game of the campaign and their second consecutive away match against a newly-promoted side, following the trip to CD Tenerife.

The Indálicos, who trained at CD Tenerife’s training ground last Monday before travelling back to Almería, have 2 more sessions ahead of them: Thursday and Friday, with Friday’s work-outs taking place before the team boards a charter flight to Barcelona.

The Rojiblancos will be looking to bounce back from the defeat against CD Tenerife, particularly given the manner in which it unfolded. Both head coach Xavier García Pimienta and the players acknowledged that they had not competed well enough in the first half, and that ultimately proved costly.

Saturday’s fixture will also provide an important test against newly-promoted CE Sabadell FC making their home debut in LaLiga Hypermotion. The Catalan side have drawn both of their opening matches, earning points away from home against Sporting Gijón and CD Castellón.

Thalys will sit out the game in Sabadell, as the forward will serve the 3rd of his 4 remaining suspension matches. Gui Guedes is also unavailable following his recent surgery. Nico Melamed did not train on Wednesday and instead received treatment in the medical room for the muscular discomfort he has been carrying since the Tenerife game.

Meanwhile, UD Almería 'B' left-back Radic joined up with the first-team squad in training.
