Three points for Almeria could give the top-of-table standings a twist

The Rojiblancos host UD Las Palmas this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (Spain Time) Mallorca and Espanyol will play before

Almería are preparing to face matchday 25 in the competition against UD Las Palmas at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium (4 p.m. CET). It will be a very complicated game due to the quality of the rivals from the Canary Islands. However, three huge points for the Rojiblancos could give the top-of-table standings a surprise twist.

In fact, Almería will play their match once the top-of-table Mallorca vs Espanyol has finished. Currently, the Almeria team sit third, level on points with the Catalans, while the Majorcans are five points clear at the top. On a plus note, Jose Gomes’ men will have the opportunity to take three more points out of the postponed game against Leganés on Wednesday before flying out to the Balearic Islands the following Sunday.

Almería completed their preparation for the match against UD Las Palmas this Saturday, and the players are now focused on becoming the best version of themselves to try to collect all three points on home turf. Everything else will come later.

José Gomes cannot count on the team's top scorer Sadiq and he will not decide whether Cuenca joins the squad or not until the last moment, as the centre-back is feeling some muscular discomfort. The head coach has already reported that he would not run the risk including the central defender, especially having two more games in a row ahead.
