The squad to go on holiday until pre-season
The players will be back to the grind the second week of July hoping to make it third time lucky
‘We owe our fans one… next season will be the good one,’ stated head coach Rubi at the post-Girona presser. Samú Costa acknowledged in a post-match flash interview ‘I approached the fans in the stands to apologise because they believed in us, although I hope they’re proud of us,’ while team-mate Balliú promised ‘we’ll try again and achieve it next season.’
Firm resolutions for next 2021/22 campaign made by the head coach and some UD Almeria first-teamers who will start their holiday feeling gutted for not having been able to continue in the race for promotion to the top flight, although they are hoping to make it third time lucky.
The 2020/21 campaign has come to an end for UD Almería, and now the squad members are getting a break until the second week of July, when the pre-season begins with renewed hopes.
The head coach, Samú and Balliú, who spoke on UDA Radio and Dipalme Radio at the end of the play-off semi-final second leg, gratefully thanked all the fans for their unwavering support throughout the season.
