The Rojiblancos eager to redeem themselves on home turf

UD Almeria are back to thick of things with the firm aim of trying to achieve the first victory of the season at Power Horse Stadium. Luis Suárez does some drills with the group. Visit of the Virgen de Loreto school in training

UD Almería are back to thick of things this Wednesday after having Tuesday off. The squad are now thinking about Sunday's game against Villarreal CF at the Power Horse Stadium (Matchday 32/ Liga EA Sports). It will be the first of the double-decker that the Rojiblancos have at home, two opportunities to try to achieve something that has escaped them since the beginning of season: winning on home turf

The visit of Villarreal CF, a top-tier team of enormous potential, marking an upward trajectory and having lost only one game in the last 11 played, does not seem favourable, but UD Almería have begun to work to face the event with confidence. Since the arrival of head coach Pepe Mel, UD Almería have added 4 points away from home (victory in Las Palmas and draw in San Sebastián) and none in the Power Horse Stadium with only one performance against CA Osasuna (0-3) in a match that went downhill since the get go.

Now the new Indálicos' gaffer is also eager to make his debut at home, and redeem himself as his players. The Madrid native head coach regrets the absences of Luis Suárez and Radovanović, due to injury, as well as that of Gonzalo Melero, due to suspension. He will fulfill the third of the four games he has been suspended.

The Colombian striker has begun to do some drills with the group, but there is still a long journey ahead to be available. Marezi, who trains with the right wrist immobilised due to the fracture he suffered in the scaphoid bone, remains a doubt.

This Thursday, behind-closed-door training session at the Power Horse Stadium.
