‘The players are doing very well as the stress tests show’
Dr. José Ramón Pineda explains the medical tests that open up doors to the UD Almería pre-season preparations
José Ramón Pineda, doctor at UD Almería, together with Diego Portugal, explained that ‘Dr. Sola, a cardiologist, is conducting a cardiological study on the players’ at the Vithas Virgen del Mar Hospital. As a matter of fact, he has detailed that ‘it is based in performing an electrocardiogram to see the heart’s structure and to make sure that there are no heart problems. Also, another test has been also conducted to check the heart's rhythm and electrical activity.’
Given that it has been twelve days since the previous 2019/20 season ended, José Ramón Pineda stressed that ‘the normal thing is that they have not lost any functional capacity.’ Of course, the pre-season will be vital ‘to start little by little’ in order to build match fitness up in addition to getting in their best shape ahead of the championship.
‘They are very well physically and, in fact, the stress tests confirm that they are still quite fit,’ José Ramón Pineda concluded in a conversation with the club's official media.
