The Hard work in the shadow of injured Nieto and Martos

Two serious injuries, a special friendship and a long way to go to get back into match fitness

Juanjo Nieto fell in February with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and less than a month later, Ivan Martos broke the anterior cruciate in his left knee. Since then, the two players are working day and night to get back into the pitch as soon as possible and feel like a footballer again: 'The injury I picked up has forced me to continue working even on holidays to nurse my knee. It's a slow recovery in which you hardly perceive any progress. The hardest are the first months when you spend most of the time on a stretcher struggling,' Juanjo Nieto told the Club's official media.
His team-mate and friend, Ivan Martos talks about the work-outs in the shadows that they are carrying out during his recovery. 'Of course, you feel envious of your team-mates when you see them out on the pitch, but now in pre-season, they almost suffer more than us,' laughed the player.
The day to day is tough. Sometimes you wake up excited and think there's less to go but other times you wake up thinking there's a lot left.' Both one and the other have practically not had holidays and have been exercising to continue with the recovery from the serious injuries they sustained back in February, in Malaga, Juanjo Nieto, and in March, in Zaragoza, Iván Martos.
They both had were taken to the operating room and they still have a long way to go. They are practically halfway of their rehabilitation processes and with the pre-season started, they are still in the gym under the physiotherapists' supervision, while their team-mates exercise on the grass... Sharing again moments with team-mates is an extra motivation.
