The club delivers medical equipment to hospitals in Almeria in an official function held at Torrecárdenas Maternity Hospital

The institutions deeply appreciate ‘the enormous gesture of altruism and generosity’ made by Turki Alalshikh, president and owner of UD Almeria

UD Almería, through its Foundation, has already delivered all the medical equipment to the province's hospitals, such as Torrecárdenas, located in the capital; Poniente, in El Ejido, and La Inmaculada, in Huércal-Overa. The club launched this initiative in the fight against coronavirus in Almeria with the donation of 1,200,000 euros that was made by the president and owner of UD Almeria, Turki Alalshikh.

The hospitals have received 20 modular multiparameter monitors for ICU; a portable digital X-ray machine and 40 Wi-Fi patient multiparameter monitors that will allow monitoring, 24 hours a day, fundamental parameters such as the oxygen saturation of those hospitalised patients who require intermediate care.

All the medical machines have been delivered in an official function at the Torrecárdenas Maternity Hospital, with the presence of the President of the UDA Foundation, Lorena García; the Mayor of Almería, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco; the delegate of the Junta de Andalucía (Andalusian Government), Maribel Sánchez, the delegate of the Andalusian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte. The managing director of the Torrecárdenas Hospital, Manuel Vida, the North Healthcare Area managing director, José Miguel Medina and the director of the ‘Poniente’ Healthcare Area, Pedro Acosta, also attended the event. 

All the institutions have thanked profusely the support of Turki Alalshikh, and in this sense the Mayor of our city highlighted ‘the enormous gesture of altruism and generosity’ made by the President of Almería UD Almeria. Moreover, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco stated ‘the club is helping enormously to promote health in Almeria.’ At the same time, Maribel Sánchez, the delegate of the Andalusian Government highlighted ‘it means a lot to our city the solidarity of UD Almería, its President and its Club Foundation that has managed this donation.’

Meanwhile, Lorena García, recalled the charitable initiative that the president of the club started when making a donation of 1,200,000 euros to the city and province of Almeria. The UD Almeria Foundation President was delighted by the fact that ‘the medical equipment delivered is going to be really useful for the hospitals from now on.’ She also announced that the Foundation's help will continue to reach out to vulnerable families and those most in need living in Alme
