The 39 clubs not invited to join European Super League reject this competition

UD Almería has been represented at the meeting by José Juan Bonillo, who manages relations with LaLiga

LaLiga held a meeting with the 39 Spanish clubs not invited to be part of the European Super League to discuss the recent proposal. The clubs have unanimously and vigorously rejected the plans to create this breakaway competition. They all firmly believe in sporting merit as the sole criteria to qualify for international club competitions through the respective national leagues.

Today football fans across Europe can dream that their club, no matter the size, may excel, climb to the top and compete at the pinnacle of European football. ... This European tradition, in which football for all prevails, is of paramount importance and must not be threatened or modified at all. The opposition expressed globally in recent days has shown that an elitist European league is unworkable and unwanted.

LaLiga and the Spanish Clubs gathered today would like to thank everyone involved for their unwavering support shown this week on this key issue for the future of football.

LaLiga will continue to work with the fan clubs, the Spanish Government, UEFA, RFEF, AFE and the European Leagues to protect the best interests of the game and ask clubs that remain involved in the proposed competition to cease their participation immediately.
