Thalys is available again after serving the 4-match suspension imposed by the Spanish Football Federation’s Competition Committee following his dismissal in the closing stages of the final match of last season, when the Rojiblancos were battling for promotion to LaLiga EA Sports against Málaga CF.

The Brazilian was issued a straight red card in the 90+4' for 'striking an opponent in the face with his hand, using excessive force, while the ball was not in play,' as recorded in the referee’s report.

UD Almería head coach Xavier García Pimienta now has another forward at his disposal, an area where UD Almería had been short of options, with Miguel de la Fuente the only recognised striker available. Léo Baptistão can also operate in the No.9 role.

Last season, Thalys' first campaign as a Rojiblanco, he made 28 appearances, starting 6 matches and coming off the bench in the other 22. He scored 3 goals.

His youth and the process of adapting to Spanish football proved challenging, but he now has more experience under his belt and is settled in Almería. He will be looking to make his mark and show what he can do this season.
