UD Almería step up preparations for CD Mirandés with Thalys back in training
The Brazilian striker returns after resolving visa issues as the Rojiblancos gear up for the final fixture of the first half of the season
UD Almería resumed training on Wednesday with their focus firmly set on the upcoming fixture against CD Mirandés, which will bring the first half of the LaLiga Hypermotion season to a close.
The main news from the session was the return of Brazilian striker Thalys, who has rejoined the group after resolving visa issues that delayed his return to Spain by a week. The bureaucratic setback forced him to miss the opening match of 2026 against Granada CF.
Thalys trained normally alongside his team-mates and drew much of the attention as the squad got back to work following Tuesday’s rest day. UD Almería 'B' winger Hou and midfielder Hugo once again trained with the first team, while youngster centre-back Edu Pla was also called up for the session.
As on Monday, Nico Melamed and Bonini continued to work individually on the pitch at the training ground as they near the final stages of recovery from their respective injuries.
UD Almería still have two training sessions remaining ahead of the clash with CD Mirandés, both scheduled to take place at the Stadium at the same kick-off time as the upcoming league encounter.
