Gonzalo Melero: 'We had control of the game before they scored the second goal'
The UD Almería player emphasises that the goals scored by Burgos CF were due to mistakes typical made by the Rojiblancos and regrets not having taken advantage of UD Almería's good spells in the match
Gonzalo Melero, scorer of UD Almería's goal at El Plantío Stadium, spoke after the match on UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station, and lamented: 'We had control of the game before they scored the second goal. We had started the second half very well and had clear chances like those from Arnau, Luis Suárez, and Marc Pubill...'
The UD Almería midfielder emphasised: 'The goals they scored against us came more from our mistakes than from theirs. Two were from set pieces and the third was an individual error that can happen.'
The Madrid-born footballer reflected: 'Despite the result, we didn't play a bad game in terms of play. We competed, we fought, we had our chances, but as I said, we failed at certain moments and they took advantage of them.'
Gonzalo Melero was emphatic when he stated: 'We have to be self-critical because we can't have these lapses in games because everything is going to be uphill for us.' He believes that they must be united, continue to improve and fight because, as he pointed out, there is still room to achieve our goal
