Maximiano: 'I have the same vibes in Segunda as in Primera'

'I prepare myself the same way, this is football. The ball is the same, the goals too and also the pitch. What we have to think about is doing our job well on a daily basis to achieve our objectives,'

UD Almería goalkeeper Maximiano has been one of the club's biggest bets and the Portuguese has accepted, without problems, the new situation of the team after relegation. The Lusitanian, always sincere in his statements, not only is a titan between the sticks in the second tier of Spanish football, but also he assumes responsibility. 'I have the same vibes in Segunda as in Primera. I prepare myself the same way, this is football. The ball is the same, the goals too and also the pitch. What we have to think about now is doing our job well on a daily basis to achieve our objectives,' said in an interview on UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station.

'We've started the season well,' stated the keeper although he clarified: 'We're always going to go all out to win each game and perhaps in Santander, we could've done something more, but we must be happy with the start we've had and continue in this way.' The idea is to keep it up with a new victory, now at home, 'against a big team in Spanish football and in front of our fans, who are still with us and this is something that must be valued and truly appreciated. It's essential to stick together towards the goal.'

The Celeirós-born does not mind that UD Almería are considered as favourites to regain promotion this season: 'What it's said does not have to affect us in any way because to achieve things we must give it our all and the best of each one of us. Without effort, without graft, only with talent, things aren't achieved.' LaLiga Hypermotion has already surprised the interviewee 'because of the intensity with which it's played. Anyone can win a match.'

On the last Matchday in Tenerife, UD Almería kept a clean sheet. When questioned about this, he reflected: 'It's always important because we'll be closer to victory, apart from the fact that it gives us confidence, but it isn't essential at all. There are many aspects to take into account.'

The squad is practically the same as last season's, but the coaching staff, although experiencing a second stage in the Club, is new for Maximiano. He was asked about new goalkeeper coach Diego Tuero: 'He's going to make FernandoBruno and me grow a lot. He helps us boost our confidence and teaches us things that you we don't expect or that we didn't think about at the time.'
