The UD Almería central defender has highlighted that the team are having many emotional blows, but they have also learned how to compete against tough rivals and they can do it again

UD Almería central defender Edgar González has unpacked his personal thoughts as he caught up with the Club's official media. The player has highlighted his burning desire to be able to play again after the muscle injury he sustained in training after the battle against Granada CF. He was forced off the pitch in that match against due to a blow to his head and he explained: 'I want to be able to play and help the team on the pitch. I truly hope to be able to be in action in the match against UD Las Palmas; I tried to make it against Girona FC, but it was impossible.' Edgar clarified that his availability will depend on how he is doing over the next days.

Regarding the current situation of the Rojiblancos in the LaLiga EA Sports, the 26-year-old made it clear: 'It's obvious that we must win now, we have no more opportunities, we must do it now' and added: 'Everyone is screwed and we want to move forward. The next game is a final and we have to win it. We're more motivated than ever, we believe in ourselves and our work.'

Regarding the state of mind of the players, the Sant Joan Despí native points out: 'We're having many emotional blows like the one after the match against Granada CF or the last one at the Montilivi Stadium. In Girona, the first half an hour was great for us, it was what we had trained for.' On this same topic, he indicated: 'We've competed against tough teams like Real Madrid, Villarreal…, we can do it, but I repeat that from now on every game is final and we have to manage to emerge victorious.'

Edgar González sent a message to the UD Almería fans: 'Actually, we can't ask them for more...they're always with the team, supporting no matter what. We're the ones who have to offer them good results and we want to bring them joy again and make all our supporters happy.'
