Robertone: We can't wait to compete in the league

The UD Almería central midfielder says that they are bringing good vibes and what they want now is for them to go against Rayo Vallecano on the pitch this Friday

'We can't wait to start competing in the League,' says UD Almería central midfielder and co-captain Lucas Robertone in a press conference when looking ahead to the start of the 2023/24 season. The Argentinian states: 'We're bringing good vibes and what we want now is for them to go against Rayo Vallecano on the pitch.'

When asked about the football tactics that the new head coach wants them to show, the Concordia native explained: 'He has a clear idea: tring to be a well-organised defence and manage to create dangerous situations when attacking. It's what we've been working on in the pre-season, but then each game and each opponents are different.'

LaLiga has rescheduled some of the Matchday 1 kick-off times due to the heatwave, although UD Almería's fixture starts at 7:30pm. 'We've discussed it in the dressing room. It seems they didn't realise that It's hotter here than anywhere else, but that doesn't depend on us. We'll try to adapt, putting that aside and focusing on the game,' he commented.

The 27-year-old central midfielder was also asked about the fact that the summer transfer window will end after several Matchdays: 'All the teams are more or less in the same situation. At the end of the transfer window is when there are more moves with signings and departures. We're trying to quickly adapt and help newcomers to settle in while we wish the best to those who are leaving.'

The Argentinian player, who emphasises 'feeling really comfortable in Almería,' trusts 'in improving what I did last season or at least, perform at the same level. I felt at a pretty good level, although you can always do better. I do hope to get regular starts as before, which is what helped me to put in such good performances.'

The former Argentina U23 international also talked about the Club and the team's objectives: 'We achieved the main objective, but we always want more, looking to be higher up in the standings, and avoid suffering so much.' Then, he added: 'The future of the Club is promising. It's been improving over these years. We've met our goals and I truly hope it remains that way.'

Moreover, Lucas Robertone expects some difficulties on Friday against Rayo Vallecano, who had a great season last term. Nevertheless, he believes in UD Almería's chances to win. 'It's always important to play at home. We'll try to perform as well as we did in the last season. We were very strong. In the Power Horse Stadium, we feel great with our people and we'll try to take advantage of it. We have to improve away from home though,' he concluded.
