Rubi: 'We have the possibility of sleeping in an automatic promotion spot'

UD Almería head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia has talked about the importance of this Tuesday's match against Córdoba CF and at the same time he has warned about the rivals' potential, making it clear: 'They're very close to being able to get more victories in a row, that is why I'm on total alert.' 

 

'We have the possibility of sleeping in an automatic promotion spot, hence the relevance of this Andalusian encounter,' the gaffer said. The Catalan also spoke about the tight schedule ahead until the league appointment with Cádiz CF: 'It'll be the constant until the Christmas holidays. I think that the longest time to train between match and match is four training sessions. Footballers are used to these express preparations.'

 

Rubi elaborated on the strengths of Ivan Ania's team: 'They're very recognizable with their football, commanding, taking the game to you and doing things very well. Their position in the table doesn't mean anything.' On that note, he added: 'They're very close to being able to get more victories in a row, which is why I'm on total alert. A great team are visiting us and we all know that the fact that they're having negative results away from home changes easily after one game.'

 

The man from Vilassar de Mar recognised the positive streak in which the Indálicos are immersed and the intention to continue growing: 'There are always things to adjust, our mentality is to continue improving as a the team. It's clear that we're going through a sweet, good and very trusting moment.' 

 

Finally, Rubi took the opportunity to reflect on the evolution of UD Almería: 'On 27 September we were in the 20th position. Two months later, if we score, we have the option of moving up to 5th, 3rd or 2nd. In this period, we have the possibility of hitting a  turnaround, which does not guarantee anything for the future, but it does show that in a delicate situation we're capable of responding.'
