Kaiky: We have faith and confidence in ourselves

The Brazilian central defender, who doesn't regret having joined UD Almería, states that the UD Almeria travelling squad will go to Vigo 'with powerful team spirit', which is an absolute must.

'We have faith and confidence in ourselves, something that is essential at this time, in which we must be calm and united,' stated UD Almería central defender Kaiky Rodrigues as he caught up with the Club's official media. The Brazilian made it clear: 'We deserve to stay up in the league. We're working really well and we're prepared to fight for survival.'

Kaiky also stressed: 'I don't regret having joined UD Almería,' despite the false information that has been published in different media. In fact, the Brazilian player assured: 'I haven't talked to anyone about that. I'm really chuffed here, my family is now with me. I want to stay in this Club for a long time. Almería is very similar to my hometown Santos.'

The Rojiblanco made his LaLiga debut against Real Madrid CF on the curtain-raiser, but subsequently stopped being a starting XI regular. On this subject, Kaiky explained: 'I've picked up injuries, but I'm now fully recovered and looking forward to playing whenever the head coach needs me.'

Moreover, the 19-year-old central defender admitted that the adaptation has also taken time, especially 'defensively, because although I'm a centre-back, I've got an attacking and passing accuracy vocation, aspect to improve in Spain.'

The former Santos FC player doesn't think his young age is a problem since he explained: 'I turned 19 last January and I'm the youngest player of the squad. I've been there before in my previous clubs, but I've got personality and young people have a lot to contribute. It's a good mix with the most veterans.'

Kaiky, who insisted that the UD Almería squad are working effectively, underlines: 'We know that Celta de Vigo are doing great at the moment, they're good players, but we'll be going to Vigo feeling excited to be able to achieve a positive result.' Of course, the interviewee pointed out: 'We have to be calm, fully focused and do things the way we know.'

UD Almeria find themselves in the away table relegation zone so the Brazil U20 international highlighted 'the enormous importance of playing well away from home during this final stretch of the championship because we know we're strong with our people at the Power Horse Stadium. We play for the good of the Club and our devoted fans.'
