Taking giant steps in pre-season preparations

UD Almería are about to wrap up their first week of pre-season preparations for LaLiga and the training camp at Montecastillo is on the horizon.

UD Almería are preparing to complete the first week of pre-season, which is being really intense, demanding and hard because in addition to the training workload, the heatwave is a serious handicap for the Rojiblancos. This Saturday morning they have exercised at the Anexo training base from 9am with temperatures higher than 30 degrees. After having Friday off, the first break of the pre-season, this weekend will be long with twice-a-day training sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
Head coach Rubi is very satisfied with the positive attitude and the hard work of his footballers, who are taking giant steps in their preparations ahead of the upcoming campaign. In the morning session this Saturday, UD Almería have turned the training base into a 'gym' to  improve their fitness; in the evening the players focused on ball work.
There are still 21 days to go before the championship kicks off and the Rojiblancos have their training camp at Montecastillo located in Jerez de la Frontera just around the corner, where they will be heading off next weekend. They will be there from 23 July to 2 August, and aside from training they will play 4 friendly matches. Before travelling, they will have to face 7 footie practices between Monday, 18 July and Friday, 22 July on the Anexo training ground.
Rubi and his coaching staff continues to work with around thirty players. Pozo, for instance, has left the morning session this Saturday with slight discomfort. Juanjo Nieto and Iván Martos, continue to do tailored workouts towards recovering from their respective injuries.
