AD Ceuta FC vs UD Almería match suspended following fan's death

The tragic incident halts the game at half-time after a 73-year-old Ceutí supporter passes away

The match between AD Ceuta FC and UD Almería at the Alfonso Murube Stadium was suspended at half-time following the tragic death of a 73-year-old Ceutí fan. The supporter, who had been assisted earlier in the stands after feeling unwell, was later confirmed to have died of a cardiac arrest.

The game, which was tied 1-1 at the break, had been temporarily halted in the 17th minute when the incident was first reported. After a brief 10-minute interruption, play resumed, but the sad news of the fan's passing emerged at the interval, leading to the decision to call off the match.

With no set date for the resumption, AD Ceuta and UD Almería are now in discussions to agree on a new date for the match. If the clubs fail to reach an agreement, the Spanish Football Federation’s competition committee will intervene to determine the next steps.
