Srdjan Babic, sixth signing to boost defensive options

The 25-year-old Serbian player, 1,95 metres tall, moves on loan from Red Star. He also played for Real Sociedad and Reus Deportiu

UD Almería have completed the signing of Srdjan Babic, a 25-year-old and 1,95 metres tall left-footed central defender, who moves on loan from the Belgrade-based  Red Star with an option to buy. The Serbian is the sixth signing after Carriço, Portillo, Curro Sánchez, Arnau Puigmal and Juanjo Nieto. 

Babic trained in the lower ranks of the team from his hometown, Banja Luka, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, although he has Serbian nationality. In fact, the new player is a former international with Serbia U21. He continued his footballing career at Vojvodina until he signed for Real Sociedad in the 2015/16 season. He played for their ‘B’ team and was loaned out to Reus Deportiu and Red Star, who signed the player for the 2018/19 campaign. 

Srdjan Babic was wearing the Portuguese side FC Famalicão shirt over the course of the last 2020/21 season, also being on loan from the Belgrade-based club, who now sends him on loan to UD Almería. Babic has also played the European competition with Red Star.
