Soko and Dzodic ready to help UD Almería Achieve Promotion

The new summer signings express great excitement and commitment as they aim to contribute to the Rojiblancos' quest for top division

UD Almería have officially unveiled their latest signings, Cameroonian winger Patrick Soko and Serbian midfielder Stefan Dzodic, as they look to strengthen their squad for a push towards promotion to Primera. The two players were presented at a press conference by Club Managing Director Mohamed El Assy, where both emphasised their desire to help the Club return to the top flight.

Soko, 27, arrives from SD Huesca after a standout season in the Segunda, while Dzodic, 20, joins from French Ligue 2 side Montpellier HSC 'B'. The pair expressed their eagerness to meet the challenge ahead and contribute to the team’s success.

Patrick Soko, visibly thrilled by the occasion, was joined by his family, who had travelled from Cameroon for his official presentation. The winger spoke with excitement about the opportunity to join the Club, highlighting UD Almería's ambitious project.

'It's a very attractive Club, with a lot of ambition,' said Soko. 'When UD Almería call you, it's very difficult to say no. I'm here to give my best and help the team succeed.'

The Cameroonian also reflected on his previous season with SD Huesca and his intention to carry that momentum into his new chapter: 'I want to bring the same energy and passion I showed last year. I'm ready to give it my all, whether I’m playing on the wing or as a forward. My goal is to always work hard and help the team.'

Stefan Dzodic, who impressed the media by speaking fluent Spanish, was also eager to discuss his goals at the Club. Despite his youth and limited top-flight experience, the Serbian midfielder was confident about his abilities.

'I’m here to play, to grow and to contribute to UD Almería’s ambitions,' said Dzodic. 'I know this is a big Club with big aspirations, and I will fight to meet the challenge.'

Dzodic also spoke about his versatility, revealing his comfort in both midfield and defence, but emphasising his preference for a central midfield role: 'I’ve always played as a midfielder, but I’m ready to help in defence if the head coach needs me there.'

With both Soko and Dzodic eager to make an impact, UD Almería will be hoping the duo can help lead the team to a successful season and ultimately, promotion to top-flight LaLiga EA Sports.
