Emergency drill carried out at Power Horse Stadium

Football clubs must have plans in place to respond effectively to health and safety incidents and other emergencies that might occur at an event, and therefore UD Almería have carried out an emergency drill at the Power Horse Stadium, within the Self-Protection Plan of the sports venue that has been implemented to comply with the security regulations imposed by LaLiga, which has supervised the actions developed.

UD Almería tested the emergency procedures in the event of an avalanche of fans in the 'Grada de Animacion' [supporters' section] causing the terrace's protection barriers to cave in and a number of supporters to fall off the edge of the stand. Spanish Police, Local Police, Red Cross, Grupo Control [private security company], the emergency company U24, 'extras' such as fans and employees from different departments of the Club participated as they were coordinated by the Club Security department headed up by Manuel Martínez. 

Each of these groups occupied their usual place during the matches held at the Power Horse Stadium, and after reporting the above-mentioned avalanche, the entire emergency procedure was followed, caring for the injured, evacuating and relocating the unharmed fans... In addition, the emergency drill was reported to claim the presence of ambulances and security reinforcements, so that the injured were rushed to hospitals. 

Moreover, the quickest route to the Torrecárdenas Hospital in Almería city was mapped out and the location of the Local Police in strategic places to facilitate transfers as fast as possible. 

The assessment of the security director of UD Almería, the coordinator of the Spanish Police force and the Emergency Chief on this drill was really positive due to the speed with which the representatives of LaLiga's Security area witnessed them in action.
