UD Almería head coach Xavier García Pimienta admitted in his post-match press conference following the game in Sabadell that his side still need to reach their true level and above all, maintain it consistently. As he explained, 'if you're not at 100% for the whole match, anyone can beat you.'

On that note, he added: 'It doesn't matter whether you're playing against a newly promoted team, a reserve side or anyone else; everyone has their own strengths. CE Sabadell FC went to Gijón, competed well and came close to winning, just as they did in Castellón. This is a very tough and evenly matched league.'

The UD Almería head coach acknowledged: 'We knew what we were going to come up against. The opposition were intense, they won their duels and created one-on-one situations... We found it difficult to play out from the back and create chances, especially in the first half.'

He went on to say: 'The match was quite evenly balanced, but we weren't able to show our best version. After they went ahead, we had more of the ball and created two very clear chances, with Léo Baptistão 's effort and Miguel de la Fuente hitting the woodwork.'

García Pimienta admitted that the team improved after the substitutions, although he was also keen to stress: 'We lost and this has to make us realise that we need to give more. There's no other way. We'll keep working and keep trying.'

The UD Almería gaffer underlined that the opposition's greater intensity and clinical finishing had been decisive. 'It's our second consecutive defeat and the dressing room is hurting, but we'll get back up,' he said.

The season has only just begun, however, and the new red-and-white project still needs time to take shape and establish itself.
