Lázaro Vinicius: 'Positive energy will make things work'

The UD Almería forward reflects on team effort, personal growth and fan support

Lázaro Vinicius, UD Almería’s versatile forward, spoke on the Club’s official radio station following the team’s encouraging 1-1 draw against Albacete BP. The Brazilian highlighted the resilience shown by the squad after conceding an early goal, with a special nod to the unwavering support from over 15,000 fans present at the UD Almería Stadium.

'We started the match behind, but the important thing is we didn’t give up. The equaliser came with a lot of support from the stands,' Vinicius explained, noting the crucial role the fans played in lifting the team’s spirits.

On a personal level, the forward expressed confidence in his own development: 'I feel calm and focused. I tend to put a lot of pressure on myself to score, but I’ve learned to stay composed. Goals will come through hard work and consistency,' he stated.

Accustomed to switching between the wing and centre-forward positions, Vinicius offered insight into the tactical flexibility required by the coaching staff: 'When playing on the wing, I have more time to hold the ball and set up attacks. As a centre-forward, I have to create quicker chances to score. I’m used to playing in both roles,' he said.

With the departure of key attackers such as Luis Suárez, the Brazilian forward has taken on more responsibility in leading the charge up front. 'Patrick Soko and I will carry more of the goal-scoring burden, but we have other talented players who will help us grow in this area,' Vinicius added.

Before wrapping up, Vinicius took a moment to thank the passionate UD Almería supporters: 'The fans gave us so much love the other day at home. It’s truly motivating and helps the players perform at their best. Nothing happens by chance. If everyone stays positive, things will work out. I think Leo’s goal came from the energy of the fans.'
