Rubi: 'All is to play for if we win because there's still a lot left'
The UD Almería head coach considers the match against Levante UD to be of the utmost importance. 'They're a great team, they've worked very hard and they deserve to be where they are,' he points out. He is confident in performing as well as his side did against Real Zaragoza to try to grab all 3 points
UD Almería head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' has looked ahead to the upcoming game against current LaLiga Hypermotion pacesetters Levante UD. 'The match will greatly influence the focus on the top-two spots. All is to play for if we win because there's still a lot left to do. Thinking about that means getting good results now, which is what we want. We're going in with the intention of performing as well as we did against Real Zaragoza at home, against opponents who are doing very well. It's true that we have more to lose than they do, but we have to approach it with character,' he pointed out.
The Catalan agreed with UDA striker Luis Suárez in that the main objective right now must be reaching the play-offs to take a weight off their shoulders. 'It's clear that, to reach the final goal, there are other steps to take first and we have to take it game by game, but we continue to think the same and if we beat Levante UD it'll become even clearer.'
The Mediterranean adversaries are enjoying their best form of the season and the gaffer is well aware that a complete performance is needed to overcome it: 'They're deserving of being where they are. They're a very well-worked team that has picked up good points and obtained results in the final minutes, whether with the starters or the substitutes; everyone is engaged. This forces us to play a very good game for the entire 90 minutes.'
The Vilassar de Mar native sent a message to the loyal UDA fans: 'We have an extraordinary fan base. They've behaved
impeccably over the last two years. It's a shame we see empty seats; maybe we're not showing them what they want to see, or the excitement isn't as alive as it was in the top flight. I know it's a strange time, that excitement that sparked in December is gone now, but I continue to insist that, if we can, we fill the Stadium to capacity and push hard on these Matchdays because it's very noticeable when they're with the team and showing their backing
