Rubi: It'd be a serious mistake to focus now on Real Valladolid instead of Real Sociedad

The UD Almería head coach states: We'll save the campaign by winning a game and it's Real Sociedad up next, the opponents we must focus on at the moment

'It'd be a serious mistake to think now about Sunday's fixture against Real Valladolid CF instead of this Tuesday's against Real Sociedad,' explained UD Almería head coach Rubi at the pre-match press conference before visiting the Reale Arena Stadium in San Sebastián this Tuesday for a 7:30pm kick-off (Spanish Time).

The Rojiblancos' gaffer argued: 'We need that final push to win one more game. I have no doubt that whoever gets 42 points will stay up in the Primera Division. Tomorrow is the first game of the three that we can win and we have to try because if we beat them, we'll have achieved our goal. It's what we're focused on.' In addition, Rubi added: 'They've won three of their last five games. We depend on ourselves and not on other team's results and we're coming off a great game against RCD Mallorca. I may be wrong and we might be the ones who will go down, but honestly...I don't think so. We must be cautious and go game by game. 42 points will be enough to save the campaign, although I still believe that either 39 or 40 points will do.'

When talking about the next opponents from San Sebastián, Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' said: 'Real Sociedad are looking to get into the Champions League. They're a team who play very well football, easily dominate games and don't let you breathe. We need to avoid that feeling of losing the ball soon after winning it back, which is what happened to us against CA Osasuna. They'll use other refresh players regarding the starters at the Camp Nou against Barça.'

Real Sociedad beat UD Almería in the first half of the campaign at the Power Horse Stadium: 'We did badly in attack and they were at their electric best away from home. We didn't create much danger. Their philosophy is to create effective plays and go on the attack, so it'll be paramount to do a great defensive job and control them in the best possible way, knowing where to press and where not.'

The Vilassar de Mar native was glad for Sadiq's full recovery after the serious injury he suffered at the beginning of the season and is looking forward to meeting him in San Sebastian this Tuesday.
