UD Almería U19s 'A' claim second straight win in midweek fixture

The Academy Rojiblancos follow up weekend victory with 2–0 triumph away to Vázquez Cultural

UD Almería under-19s 'A' secured their second consecutive victory on Wednesday in Group IV of the División de Honor Juvenil, defeating CD Vázquez Cultural 0–2 in Marbella to continue climbing the standings.

The result follows last Saturday’s 3–1 home win over UD Melilla U19s, which ended a 9-match winless run. The UD Almería youngsters had also suffered defeats in their previous 3 fixtures, a sequence that had left the youth team in a somewhat delicate position in the table.

Back-to-back victories have now helped steady the situation. The youthful Rojiblancos currently sit 8th with 35 points, opening up a 9-point cushion over the relegation zone.

Next up is another home fixture on Sunday, this time against CD Mosquito, who sit one place above them in the standings.

The UD Almería youth side coached by Rafilla Morales spent much of the first half of the season competing near the top end of the table as they pushed for qualification for the Copa del Rey U19, though they ultimately fell short of that objective.

Facing the second half of the campaign without a clear target proved something of a challenge for the squad, but as recent results show, the youth team have reacted well and appear to be regaining their momentum.
