Samú Costa: ‘Sunday's victory is dedicated to Carriço to lift his spirits’

The Portuguese player shows his full support for his injured team-mate. The midfielder states ‘you’re only better than your rivals if you show it on the pitch, not before’

UD Almería midfielder Samú Costa, who is undeniably a key Rojiblanco player, expresses the whole team’s total support for team-mate Daniel Carriço, who is set for a long stint on the sidelines: ‘We dedicated Sunday's victory to him to lift his spirits, Now he needs everyone's support and we’re by his side.’

The Portuguese footballer called for work and humility when having a post-match flash interview with the Club’s official station, UDA Radio. In fact, he stressed ‘we respect all rivals equally because anyone can beat you in this tier. It’s true that we’re top of the league at the moment, but you’re only better than your rivals if you show it on the pitch, not before playing games.’

The 20-year-old player valued the team's brilliant run of results, although he is cautious as nothing has been done yet. ‘We have to stay on track and remain very focused at all times, without looking beyond the imminent game. Now we have to think about CD Ibiza since it’ll definitely be a very complicated game. We’ll face it as if it were the Copa del Rey final.’
