Sadiq receives player of the month award and celebrates it scoring superb brace

UD Almeria striker Sadiq Umar has been crowned the LaLiga SmartBank Player of the month for February in the early stages of the the match against CD Lugo and the 25-year-old celebrated it by scoring a superb brace, which takes his goal tally to 15 this season so far.
UD Almeria Director General and CEO Mohamed El Assy presented him with this well-deserved award, which is granted every month by LaLiga. This season, goalkeeper and captain Fernando has already received this award last November. Also, Sadiq emerged as the MVP winner in January 2021 in the previous campaign.
The Nigerian international dedicated the award to the UD Almeria fans and received a standing ovation from the more than 10,000 supporters in the stands which is a new record attendance this season (10,053).
The league meeting was called by the Club as the Coca-Cola Match. Eleven mascot children walked out onto the pitch holding hands with the starters and wearing t-shirts of this brand of soft drinks.
On another note, the UD Almeria footballers showed their total support for their injured team-mate Iván Martos by caming out onto the Mediterraneo pitch wearing T-shirts with the message ‘Cheer up Iván. We’re with you.’
