Sadiq picked by Nigeria squad to play Africa Cup of Nations
The tournament runs from 9th January to 6th February in Cameroon, a period of time in which there will be 6 LaLiga SmartBank fixtures
UD Almeria striker and top scorer Sadiq has been called up by Nigeria to play the Africa Cup of Nations 2022 that gets underway from 9th January to 6th February in Cameroon. According to the communiqué that the Rojiblancos Club has received on Christmas Day, Sadiq would have to join his national team on Wednesday, 29th December.
UD Almería starts training after the Christmas holidays on Tuesday 28 December, the day before the forward should join his home country’s team. Nigeria will compete in group D of the Africa Cup of Nations together with Egypt, Guinea Bissau and Sudan, and if they reach the grand final, Sadiq will miss 6 LaLiga SmartBank fixtures against FC Cartagena, UD Las Palmas, SD Eibar, Real Oviedo and UD Ibiza, in addition to the postponement of the match with CD Lugo and those Copa del Rey games.
