Rubi’s first game in-charge as head coach of UD Almeria right around the corner
The Rojiblancos performed a final training session before playing host to Real Oviedo this Saturday
Rubi’s first game in-charge as head coach of the UD Almeria first-team is going to be played against Real Oviedo at the Juegos Mediterráneos Stadium this Saturday (kick-off 6.15 p.m. Spain Time). It will be a match in which the Rojiblancos will go all out for a victory after bagging only two points in the last four matchdays.
The newly appointed head coach spoke about the match against the Oviedo in the press conference of his presentation. The Catalan mentioned that the team not only have to buckle down to their work but also get psyched up if they want to improve their performance. The thing is that Rubi has not had much time to plan his strategy and prepare his new players for this imminent game, yet he did not want to introduce many new tactical concepts so as not to drive footballers mad. Rubi will try to take advantage of the best UD Almeria qualities and especially improve aspects in defence to become stronger. The Club’s goal does not change so winning is all that counts right now.
Real Oviedo are fully determined to take a step forward towards safety and ease their relegation worries with three massive away points. They are five points clear of the bottom three at the moment. The Asturias-based side will be tough opponents to defeat as championship since they have shared the spoils 14 times this season and in the last few matchdays, they managed to win over rivals Sporting de Gijón and also snatch a point in Mallorca and in Barcelona against Espanyol.
Suspended players Ivanildo and Robertone will miss out on the involvement in the match at Juegos Mediterraneos.
