The UD Almería head coach stressed in the post-Real Madrid press conference: ‘The players have deserved to have a good reward’
After the exciting season-opener against Real Madrid CF, Rubi spoke at a post-match press conference to give his verdict on the result. The Rojiblancos’ head coach praised the meaningful performance put in by his players and clarified that, although ‘the result, seeing the numbers, is fair… our players deserved a good reward. I'm sad because through work, dedication and sacrifice we should've earned a good result.’
Joan Francesc Sicilia ‘Rubi’ was asked about his game plan: ‘The plan has worked out well for us, because Real Madrid had to come from behind to beat us.’
The UD Almeria first-team gaffer talked about the footballers he has at his disposal: ‘We played the match we had to play against the power of the rivals.’ He also added ‘we’re still waiting for people to arrive.’ On the other hand, he pointed out ‘twelve, fourteen players have made their debut today in the top tier and they’ve given their all.’
