Rubi: ‘We had to put in a lot of work into this game’
The head coach appreciates the loyal support of the fans and highlights that UD Almería have restored positive vibes
‘We had to put in a lot of work into this gamet,’ admitted Rubi when reflecting on the victory that UD Almería had just clinched at La Rosaleda Stadium. In the head coach's humble opinion, the Indalicos deserved ‘a higher mark defensively.’ Of course, with a clear feeling: ‘The victory is fair despite the fact that they made us suffer in the end.’
The Catalan explained that his players had ‘enough ball possession, especially during the first half,’ which allowed them to avoid extra difficulties on the pitch. ‘In half-time, I asked the players to take a step forward to bring out the talent they’ve got because we were missing the final pass,’ he told the media.
After the goal there was an emotional moment in which all the players dedicated the goal to their head coach. On this subject, Rubi pointed out: ‘our team dynamics and the atmosphere are great even though we’re being demanding with them…the players accept it and they show their affection in return.’
Moreover, Rubi, who thanked the fans warmly for their unwavering support, was delighted that the travelling supporters headed back to Almeria city feeling happy ‘with the taste of victory and once again restoring the positive vibes of a team that are going to go all out for those two automatic promotion places.’
