Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' has become the head coach who has achieved the most victories in UD Almería history. Against Sevilla FC, in the Spanish Cup round of 32, the gaffer has added his 53rd victory in 116 games, surpassing former head coach Casuco, who reached 52 in 127 games and Unai Emery, who won 39 in 84 fixtures. 
 
The Catalan head coach achieved this historic feat on his return to the Club after achieving promotion to the Spanish top flight in the 2021/22 season and inspiring the team to stay up in the top tier of Spanish football. In this new stage at UD Almería, they are the current LaLiga Hypermotion leaders and have out their name in the hat for the Spanish Cup round of 16. The Indálicos are celebrating now a 15-game unbeaten streak, 12 league fixtures and 3 Cup tournament ties.
