Rubi: ‘I’m convinced that the turning point begins next Friday’

The UD Almeria head coach regrets ‘nothing is going right for us at the moment’

‘Nothing is going right for us at the moment,’ regretted Rubi in the press room at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium where UD Almería spent a fateful month of January in which no victory was achieved. However, the Rojiblancos’ gaffer showed total conviction that his side will soon turn the results around. ‘I’m convinced that the turning point begins next Friday,’ he assured, referring to the fact that ‘the team has shown the high quality they have got in the first half of the season.’

Regarding the game, the coach reflected that, after a good start by the Indalicos ‘Borja's opener encouraged the rivals’ to gain momentum and win 1v1 duels. ‘We’ve tried, but they’ve also been very effective with the chances they have created,’ explained Rubi.

The Catalan stressed that UD Almería's recipe in a bid to get rid of any stress is to forget that before the start of the second half of the season they had a significant points advantage over their direct rivals. In his opinion, it is necessary to  make an effort to get into another winning streak, which led him to conclude: ‘We must graft away, even more if necessary, without taking too many breaks and get back into shape. We’ll see all this in a different way with a victory.’
