Rubi: ‘CF Fuenlabrada are very strong defensively’
The UD Almeria head coach warns that Friday's quality, experienced adversaries are going to make it particularly difficult
‘CF Fuenlabrada are very strong defensively. They kept a clean sheet against Real Valladolid CF and SD Eibar fifteen and seven days ago,’ explained UD Almeria head coach Rubi when giving his take on the next adversaries during the press conference prior to Friday's fixture at the Mediterraneo. He underlined that, despite their position at the bottom of the table, they are a team with experience who know how to handle pressure in matches very well.’
CF Fuenlabrada, as the Rojiblancos’ gaffer stated, have a hard time when it comes down to scoring goals, however he clarified ‘their squad has been reinforced properly over the January transfer window, especially at an offensive level,’ so it was very clear to him that UD Almería must be on alert and totally concentrated because ‘they’re going to make it particularly difficult for us to find spaces.’
Having said that, the Catalan has got full confidence in his side and considers that winning a second successive game at home, which would also be their fourth victory in a row, ‘would leave us with a feeling of having done our homework and will give us a peace of mind, something essential for the near future.’
Rubi made it clear that the relevance of the matches ‘is increasing’ and he truly hopes that UD Almería maintain the regained offensive and defensive balance. Oh well, it bothered him that a last-minute goal was conceded against CD Mirandés so he pointed out ‘we just have to be fully focused until the very end and never think that a game has already finished before full-time.’
