Rubi: ‘All games are important, but they’re becoming more and more relevant’

The head coach points out that his team gives him great vibes while he reminds that CD Lugo have lost only one of their last fifteen games

‘All games are important, but there are fewer and fewer to play and therefore, they're more and more relevant,’ explained UD Almeria head coach Rubi at the pre-Lugo presser ahead of Saturday’s game between the Rojiblancos and the Albivermellos at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium.

On that note, the Catalan commented ‘there are still 12 games to go and a lot of things are going to happen. Only one of the top five won on the last Matchday. We’re hurt by the defeat to Real Zaragoza, but we’re satisfied that we managed to win four of our last five matches. What we have to do is to focus on CD Lugo and keep going. My team is giving me great vibes.’

Rubi made it very clear that Saturday's league appointment will be tough. He praised the rivals from Galicia, about whom he said ‘they follow their game instructions to the letter. They’re phenomenal, as evidenced by the fact that they’ve only lost one of their last fifteen games; something that’s an impressive fact.’ Still further, as Rubi added, ‘nobody’s beaten them by more than one goal on their trips, which means that they’re always heavily involved in matches. Their season is just scintillating.’

The UD Almería gaffer considers that it will be key to ‘overcome CD Lugo's defence; That’s the great difficulty to be able to surmount if you want to beat them.’

The Rojiblancos’ head coach only wants to remain focused squarely on what is imminent and become the best version of themselves in each and every game, however when asked about the race at the top of the table, he replied ‘there’s a fierce battle at the top, and it’ll continue like this. Currently, there are three teams with a certain advantage and we’re up there, in the fight along with two ocean liners that have been relegated from the Primera Division. The difficulty is enormous, yet I’m confident.’
