Rodrigo Ely and Alex Centelles on UD Almeria retained list

The Italian-Brazilian centre-back signs a deal until June 2024 and the Valencian left-back agrees terms until 2026

Central defender Rodrigo Ely and left-back Alex Centelles will continue to wear the Rojiblancos’ shirt for the next few seasons following the agreement they have reached with UD Almeria. The Italian-Brazilian signs until 2024, two more seasons, while the Valencian does it for four campaigns, until 2026. Following the closure of the 2021/22 season,  these are the first names included on the retained list for the return to the first division of Spanish football as the Club is keen to keep talented footballers who inspired the team to promotion.

Rodrigo Ely arrived at UD Almería last March to fill a vacancy that arose due to long-term injuries and from the beginning the Italian-Brazilian earned a starting spot as he soon became a key player in Rubi's formations. In fact, the 28-year-old played the remaining 12 games since he signed for the Rojiblancos, also netting 3 goals of great importance for his team's aspirations.

Alex Centelles has been given more regular starts in his second year at UD Almería. In the 2020/21 season, the 22-year-old has featured in 13 league games, one play-off match and one Copa del Rey encounter. In the recently completed 2021/22 season, in addition to being lined up in the Spanish Cup once, he played 22 LaLiga SmartBank fixtures, 17 of them as a starter.

These two key players of real quality and consistently strong performances are set to remain in the squad for the first division LaLiga Santander as they extend their stays at UD Almería.
