Robertone, Pubill, Marezi and Šviderský are new additions to squad list
UD Almería recover players to face the first fixture of 2024 against CA Osasuna, although there are still key absences in the squad. The Rojiblancos will head to Pamplona with the firm intention of reversing the situation hoping to start the new year off with a win
Lucas Robertone, Marc Pubill, Marezi and Martin Šviderský are the new additions to the UD Almería squad for Thursday's match against CA Osasuna at the El Sadar Stadium (kick-off 5pm Spanish Time/ Matchday 19). It will be the last fixture of the first half of the championship hoping to start 2024 off with a win.
The Argentinian midfielder has shaken off an injury he suffered against RCD Mallorca, although he has only completed two training sessions with the first team, while Marc Pubill and Marezi have been told by the Club's medical services that they are fit for training upon returning from the Christmas holidays after being on the treatment table for four and two months, respectively.
In addition, Martin Šviderský, after a serious injury picked up last season playing for UD Almería 'B' has been named in the team roster for the first time. Four new additions make their injuries return, although all the players are lacking rhythm and competition except for Robertone who has only done two sessions together with the group.
Despite recovering these players, Gaizka Garitano continues to have key absences such as Melero, Luis Suárez and Koné, due to injury, as well as Mendes, Baba and Marciano who are away on international duty with the teams of their respective home countries to compete in the African Cup of Nations in due course. There are up to four players with numbers above 25 in the squad list.
The UD Almería squad members resumed training on 28th December after the festivities, have been training with great intensity and without rest with the clear objective of a firm goal of improvement at the beginning of 2024. The Rojiblancos, who have brought good vibes in a few games, but without positive results, are now hoping to reverse the situation and achieve the first victory of the season at the close of the first half of the competition. The squad completed one last training session at the Power Horse Stadium before flying charter at 5pm local time to Pamplona.
