Lucas Robertone racks up century of UD Almería games

The midfielder was handed over a framed shirt with No.100 printed on it by Club Managing Director Mohamed El Assy. The Argentinian did not feature against Granada CF due to an injury

In the early stages to the fixture against the Granadinistas, central midfielder Lucas Robertone was handed over a framed shirt with the No.100 printed on it by Club Managing Director Mohamed El Assy as the 26-year-old has joined the exclusive club of UD Almería players who have racked up 100 appearances in the Spanish professional football after taking on Valencia CF on the past Matchday 6.

The Argentinian is one of the bulwarks of UD Almería's midfield and has been putting in battling displays. He did not feature against Granada CF this Sunday due to an injury.

The Concordia native told the Club's official media that 'It's an honour for him to complete these 100 games,' something he could have never imagined when he signed for UD Almeria.

The Rojiblanco midfielder joined UD Almería in the 2020/21 season and his progression as a pro footballer has been truly brilliant and spectacular. In that first campaign, he played 30 matches, 24 league games, 5 Spanish Cup ties and 1 promotion play-off game.

Next, in the following term, 2021/22, Robertone was lined up 26 times in the championship, taking a leading role in the squad when achieving promotion to Primera Division, as well as 1 Spanish Cup tie.

Last season, in the top-flight of Spanish football, the Argentine played almost every game, 37 official top-tier fixtures.

Lucas Robertone has been a regular starter until Matchday 6 in the current campaign, but unfortunately, an injury has left on the treatment table in the last two appointments.
